Glue-down is the hardest hardwood installation method — and the best. The floor bonds directly to the subfloor with structural adhesive: no flex, no hollow spots, no noise underfoot. It's the method most installers avoid because it demands precision. It's the only method we trust.

Yes — that is one of its main advantages. Unlike nail-down, glue-down works directly on concrete slabs. We use moisture-barrier adhesives approved for on-grade and below-grade concrete.
The adhesive requires 24 hours before light foot traffic and 48–72 hours before moving furniture back in. We will give you exact timing based on the adhesive used for your project.
Both work well for glue-down. Solid hardwood can be refinished more times over its life. Engineered hardwood handles humidity fluctuations better and is often preferred for concrete subfloors. We carry both options.
